Indra Ponnudurai
Principal and founder of TSCM
My passion to work with children and run my own child care centre during my teen years were finally realised at the age of 48. With not many options available for Early Childhood education after high school, I ventured into the I.T industry and worked in the banking industry and worked in the banking line for 10 years. Subsequently, family commitments led me to leave the job to be with my children during their growing years. However, having been where I was, I felt unchallenged, resulting in me pursuing my Montessori Diploma and subsequently Bachelor in Early Childhood through a distance learning program run by University of Southern Queensland. I dived into it head-on whilst juggling around 3 children and thoroughly enjoyed the learning process, resulting in being the valedictorian of my graduating class. Having a degree enabled me to further pursue lecturing in the Early Childhood field.
After some time and with the support of my family, the decision to open TSCM was made. The approaches used, which include the Montessori Approach, Play based approach and Thematic approach are approaches that I strongly believe will contribute to the children's holistic development. Hence, the curriculum was developed to encompass these 3 approaches. To further develop myself, I proceeded to pursue my Masters in Early Childhood Education which was completed in 2014.
Running a Child Care Centre requires a team of dedicated, loving and caring staff who have passion for working with young children. Having an amazing team of long term staff at TSCM is evident that children will get the love and care they need.
I believe that each and every child is unique and through non-judgmental observations, the appropriate approach must be taken to nurture each child's abilities and uniqueness with tenderness, love and care. Through this, we will bring out the best in every child who walks through the doors of TSCM.
